For Black History Month [2023], Austin teamed up with Essence's Girls United to host the Ultimate HBCU Scholarship Giveaway. Austin and Essence presented two scholarships per week throughout the month of February. Each winner was presented with a large check in the amount of $5,000 for their win at the Nouveau Stomp the Yard event. Last Christmas [2022], Austin made headlines as she gifted over 3,100 families at her annual toy drive-- with cash, gift cards, gaming systems, electronics and more. She also gave away two homes to families in need! In addition, last Thanksgiving [2022], Nouveau teamed up with actress, Naturi Naughton and TV personality, Marlo Hampton, to hand out 600 turkeys to needy families at their Jonesboro location. Along with turkeys, families received an assortment of items for a Thanksgiving dinner (which included macaroni and cheese, vegetables, juices, milk and more). The year prior, Nouveau partnered with Ceelo Green to provide turkeys for Metro Atlanta families in need during the holidays. Last May, Nouveau Bar & Grill put together a care package giveaway for the 2020 graduates of various high schools in the Metro-Atlanta area. This included a graduation meal, a graduation gift bag ( which included 2020 t-shirts and 2020 cups), a covid-19 survival kit and cash prizes! This past fall, Austin handed out over one dozen scholarships to rising freshmen attending HBCU’s. They received scholarships on the spot ranging from $500-$5,000. Student also received tv’s, computers, refrigerators and microwaves to assist with their transition into college. Proceeds from Austin’s successful flavored grits line funded all of these initiatives. Every year, Nouveau Bar & Grill takes pride in shining a light on HBCUs at Ebony's yearly Stomp the Yard event where she uses proceeds from her Nouveau Grits line to reward students with over 30 scholarships ranging from $500.00-$5,000.00 in addition to giving away comforters, air fryers, and refrigerators; to help students get acclimated with college living. In October 2023, in honor of Homecoming week, renowned restaurateur, serial entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Ebony Austin of Nouveau Bar & Grill, surprised one deserving Howard University Student, Michael Wright, with an amazing gift on Good Morning America! It was during a recent visit at Howard University that Ebony and Michael bonded over their joint love for HBCUs and helping students with food disparities. It was Michael's heart and love for HBCUs that compelled Ebony to surprise him with a gift basket filled with her stone-ground grits line, and a $15,000.00 scholarship!
